Wynn (as it is commonly referred to) is a five-star casino resort on the Las Vegas Strip that is owned and operated by gaming mogul Steve Wynn. It consists of two towers Wynn and Encore as well as surrounding amenities.
Where It All Began
As with several hotels on the Strip, Wynn Las Vegas is not the original occupier of the space on which it stand today. For fifty years the Desert Inn operated from the same address but in 2000 Steve Wynn bought it and demolished part of it the following year.
The Desert Inn was giving way to Le Rêve whose construction began in 2001. Its owner employed the services of contractors Marnell Corrao Associates to ensure that his brain-child would be a sight to behold.
As construction continued, the rest of Desert Inn was imploded, Le Rêve became Wynn Las Vegas and Desert Inn Golf Course became Wynn Golf Club. There were however a few bumps along the way with Steve having to jump through hoops to acquire the land he needed for his project. The hotel did finally open on April 28, 2005.
Any ardent Beyoncé fan will remember her 2009/2010 I Am… Tour. Part of this tour, I Am… Yours: An Intimate Performance at Wynn Las Vegas was recorded live at Wynn immortalizing the resort in thousands of CDs and DVDs.
And this was not the only time the casino has written its name in entertainment history; it was also the location on which Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 was filmed.
Wynn Las Vegas brings luxury to gaming; it has designed the Wynn Las Vegas Book to offer comfort to gamers as they watch their teams win. The lounge theme and the dozens of screens on which to watch your favorite sports live complete the relaxing look.
As far as Poker goes the casino is famous for its No Limit Hold’em tournaments which include Wynn Fall Classic. And you do not have to be at the casino to get the inside scoop of how the tournaments are faring. All you require is your Apple device and the Wynn app and the latest updates will be sent to you wherever you are.
One year into its operations, Wynn Las Vegas added a new tower, Encore, to its already existing Wynn tower. Together, they brought the total number of rooms at the resort to 4,748. The resort also hosts ten fine dining restaurants and nine casual dining outlets with each establishment offering a vegan menu.
On top of that, the hotel casino continues to offer permanent residence to Le Rêve – The Dream, a show that has been around since May, 2005. It is also the place to be enchanted by the Night of Dreams display which is a holographic master piece that has stunned many.
Finally, one cannot speak of Wynn Las Vegas and fail to mention its partnership with Ferrari and Maserati which has seen the latter open a dealership within the hotel.
