The Grand Lisboa Hotel is a hard to miss landmark within the CBD of Macau. It is owned and managed by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (SJM) who procured the services of Hong Kong-based architects Ng Chun Man and Dennis Lau to create their 58-storey masterpiece.
In 2007 when The Grand Lisboa Hotel first began its operations many of the luxurious amenities for which it is now famous were nowhere to be seen. The resort began as a combination of a casino and affiliated restaurants. But by the end of the following year, the hotel was officially opened and the establishment became a fully integrated casino resort.
When the SJM chose the location of their resort, they had every intention of out-shining the competition. This wasn’t achieved by architectural prowess alone but also through the resort’s strategic location. One can easily access the hotel from both the Macau International Airport and the Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal since it is only a short distance away from each of them.
Tailored for the Gamers
Casino Grand Lisboa occupies four of the resort’s floors and as expected it is designed to offer gamers every opportunity to win big. As a testament to this fact, the casino has availed more than 240 tables and 750 slot games that tip the odds of walking away with some good money in your favor.
So, what goes on at all these tables? A lot! This is the place to catch a round of Sic Bo, Caribbean Stud Poker and Three Card Baccarat. What’s more, there is a jackpot out for grabs so find your lucky table and start winning.
There is also something extra for Premium Players and VIPs. For example, the former have an entire floor to themselves where they can sit at private tables and enjoy tailor-made service. And for the VIPs there are more than 140 Baccarat tables reserved for them in VIP rooms where the table limits are higher than at the regular tables.
For anyone who loves to try out a new slot machine every so often, Casino Grand Lisboa presents you with about 800 slot machines and more than 10 jackpots. And that’s not all; high value players have their own designated area and machines where jackpots can reach mouth-watering levels. In addition, the Grand Lisboa has a membership card program that allows members to accumulate points when they play and then redeem them for some free items.
Today, The Grand Lisboa boasts of 400 rooms each of which has a few extras including Jacuzzis and Turkish steam baths. The resort has also seen the number of restaurants that are housed under its roof grow. It currently features thirteen restaurants, four of which hold Michelin stars.
There is yet another highlight that is hard to miss at the resort: The Star of Stanley Ho, a 218.08 carat cushion-shaped diamond that seats proudly at the hotel’s lobby. It is said that this is the largest diamond of its type in the world.
