Galaxy Macau™ is a gaming resort that is composed of 6 hotels: The Ritz-Carlton (Macau), Banyan Tree Macau, JW Marriott Hotel Macau, Hotel Okura Macau, Galaxy Hotel™ and Broadway Hotel. The resort is situated within Macau’s gaming capital: the Cotai Strip and is owned by the Galaxy Entertainment Group Limited.
Where It All Began
The Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) began by testing the waters. They managed to get a gaming concession from the Macau authorities and set up Casino Waldo which was the first of four City Club Casinos. Although the casinos were doing well, GEG had their eyes on the Cotai Strip and in May 2011 the Galaxy Macau opened its doors to the world. At the time, the resort had three hotels: Galaxy Hotel™, Hotel Okura Macau and Banyan Tree Macau.
Having cost a whooping HK$16.5 billion it goes without saying that in 2011 the Galaxy Macau had more than just table games. It featured in excess of 50 restaurants, dozens of shops and the Skytop Wave Pool with its man-made beach. And this was just phase one of the ambitious Galaxy Macau development plan.

Irrespective of the slump in gaming revenues in Macau, Galaxy Macau will always be remembered for changing the skyline of the Cotai Strip with its imposing structures. Furthermore, through the establishment of the GEG Foundation, the resort and its sister-ventures seek to give back to the community that has played a major role in their growth.
Aside from walking away with mouth-watering jackpots from the Poker Rooms of Galaxy Macau, members of the exclusive GEG Privilege Club have more than enough reasons to keep playing.
For instance, depending on the tier that you belong to you are entitled to discounts at selected restaurants, merchandise redemptions and slashed hotel rates. Moreover, as a higher tier member you can enjoy dedicated butler and host service, access to the Plaza Premium Lounge when you arrive at the Macau International Airport or a free round-trip air ticket every month.
The casino also holds various promotions that can see you add to the freebies that you already have as a member of the GEG Privilege Club. A good example is the Privilege Points Promotion that allows you to accumulate points when you play and then redeem them for tangible gift items at participating outlets.
Furthermore, Galaxy Macau has created the Horizon VIP and Horizon High Limit Slots Parlor that are reserved for its Black and Diamond GEG Privilege Club members. Here they have access to private salons, reduced currency exchange rates and concierge service that is tailored to suit individual members.
Enter May 2015 and along came the newest members of the Galaxy Macau family: The Ritz-Carlton (Macau), JW Marriott Macau and Broadway Hotel. The opening of these three hotels marked the second phase of the resort’s expansion plan. Today the casino hotel boasts of hundreds of rooms, more than 100 restaurants, the Skytop Adventure Rapids and a shopping complex known as The Promenade.
