Crown Entertainment Complex or Crown Melbourne is a casino resort in Victoria, Australia. It is owned and operated by Crown Resorts Limited that also runs Crown Perth Entertainment Complex and is regulated by the Victorian Commission for Gambling Regulation (VCGR).
Crown Casino was founded in 1994 by businessman Lloyd J. Williams. Initially, the casino was housed at the World Trade Centre and remained there until 1997 when the construction of the entertainment complex was completed and the casino took its rightful place.
Williams continued to operate the casino until 1999 when he sold it to Crown Resorts Limited whose leadership has seen the resort host the World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific as well as the Aussie Millions.
Making a Difference
Due to the diversity of the services that the complex offers, the facility receives millions of tourists each year. These tourists bring money; a portion of which is paid to the Australian Government in taxes and eventually impacts the lives of ordinary Australians.
In addition, Crown Resorts Limited established Crown Resorts Foundation which seeks to provide financial support to deserving causes. To this effect the foundation has partnered with the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE) and the Salvation Army to bring change to the community. They have also made donations to Father Bob Maguire Foundation to meet the needs of the homeless.
Anyone who loves the thrill of table games will be right at home in Crown Casino. They have an enviable collection that includes Craps, Pontoon Pandemonium and Caribbean Stud. The casino’s poker rooms are also quite exciting especially due to the regular tournaments that they host.
And that’s not all; while at the casino you can sample their more than 2,600 slot machines that are loaded with the latest games as well as the classics. Furthermore, Crown’s VIP Gaming program welcomes its members to the Mahogany Room where the stakes of Roulette, Baccarat, Blackjack and Pai Gow get excitingly high.
In line with its integrated resort theme, Crown Entertainment Complex has something for everyone irrespective of whether or not they have an interest in gambling. It begins at the Galactic Circus, a massive interactive theme park where everyone can delight in the playful atmosphere. The complex has also introduced Kingpin Crown, a bowling alley that completes the Galactic Circus experience.
Yet another welcome addition to the Crown Melbourne family is The Palms, a state-of-the-art cabaret venue. And for the movie goers Village Cinemas Crown have a package that suits every pocket: they have seven conventional theaters and for some extra dollars you can enjoy first-class service at their Gold Class cinemas.
Finally, the complex has an elaborate network of restaurants that offer everything from fine dining, to casual meals and quick bites. With a total of twenty nine restaurants, the cuisine is so diverse that any foodie will be impressed. This is the place to sample the likes of Mr. Hive Kitchen & Bar, Emporio Pizza & Pasta and Cucina.
